Today I created my first ever valentines mail.  This snail mail made with love is heading to one of my penpals in America.

How it all started

Hello!
My name is Alisha, and I have been moving around the countryside for years now due to my husbands work commitments.
I'm 33, married with two young children, and haven't had the luxury of having my family or friends close by, in fact they live 5 hours away.  Over the years ive had trouble making friends in person, its much harder the older you get, and i think everyone in small towns are already happy with the friends they have ( who knows, i could be wrong).
Ive always loved taking photo's, everywhere i looked i saw beauty i could capture. Then Instagram came out and i was in love, I started meeting like minded people.
 One day I decided that i needed more in my life, I needed a hobbie and the photography wasnt fullfilling my loneliness. I sent out a post on my Instagram " Desperately seeking" penpals, and was lucky enough to have a few responses from some lovely ladies. Some fizzled out over time, and others i became good real life friends with ( unfortunately they still live far away), but the friendships are still going strong.
 Now a couple of years later I have 12 penpals (which is perfect for me), im not lonely, and im becoming more creative everytime. I love the creativity in the letters, and i love getting to know new people. So if you have no family or friends around you, or seeking a hobbie, maybe snail mail could help you.

With this blog im aiming to share with you creative ways of doing snail mail, my incoming mail, great places to find stationery and crafting goods, and other snail mail blogs that inspire me.
And who knows, you may also meet some new friends while taking this journey with me :) xx
